Rental Turnover Clean Checklist

General Areas

Dust and wipe all reachable surfaces (tables, shelves, windowsills, countertops)

Vacuum carpets and rugs)

Sweep and mop hard floors

Empty all trash bins and replace liners (if extras are available on-site)

Bedrooms

Make beds or change linens (only if add-on selected and clean set is provided)

Dust all surfaces (nightstands, dressers, headboards)

Vacuum carpets or sweep/mop hard flooring

Light tidying of visible items

Living Room

Dust and wipe down all furniture (coffee tables, shelves, TV stands)

Vacuum upholstered furniture as applicable (sofas, armchairs)

Light tidying of visible clutter

Wipe TV screen and dust electronics (no internal cleaning)

Kitchen

Wipe countertops and backsplash

Clean exterior of appliances (fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher)

Clean sink and polish faucet

Empty and clean trash bin

Sweep and mop floors thoroughly

Bathrooms

Clean and disinfect sinks, countertops, toilets, and tub/shower

Wipe mirrors and glass surfaces

Sweep and mop hard floors

Refill toiletries and paper (if provided by client)

Final Touches

Turn off all lights (unless instructed otherwise)

Ensure windows and doors are locked

Take out all trash to designated area

Clean Time Disclaimer (Rental Turnover)
Estimated duration per square footage (1 cleaner):
  • 0–500 sq ft: 1.25 hrs
  • 501–1,000 sq ft: 2.5 hrs
  • 1,001–1,500 sq ft: 3.75 hrs
  • 1,501–2,000 sq ft: 5 hrs
  • 2,001–2,500 sq ft: 6.25 hrs
  • 2,501–3,000 sq ft: 7.5 hrs
  • 3,001–3,500 sq ft: 8.75 hrs
  • 3,501–4,000 sq ft: 10 hrs
  • 4,001–4,500 sq ft: 11.25 hrs
  • 4,501–5,000 sq ft: 12.5 hrs

With 2 cleaners, time is split. If the allotted time is not sufficient due to buildup, clutter, or unique conditions, the cleaner will help prioritize or recommend additional time. Add-ons may require extra time and must be approved in advance.
